Roger S. Braugh Jr.
Mr. Braugh is a licensed attorney and co-founder of and long-time investor in upstream and midstream energy-related businesses and service companies.Mr. Braugh grew up on a working ranch in Kenedy County, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1992. He subsequently earned his law degree from Baylor University School of Law in 1996. After law school, Mr. Braugh received a one year federal judicial clerkship appointment with the Chief Judge of the federal Court of Appeals for Fifth Judicial Circuit and then joined the law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP in Houston, Texas, which began his legal career as a practicing trial attorney. After a successful legal career that developed into a national practice, Mr. Braugh retired in 2017 as a partner at the law firm of Sico Hoelscher Harris & Braugh LLP, a firm he co-founded. At the time of his retirement, the firm had offices in Houston, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi, Texas, and in Pasadena, California. Throughout his legal career, Mr. Braugh remained an entrepreneur, starting and managing multiple business ventures, many of which involved the energy industry. Mr. Braugh’s personal oilfield experience began when working as a roustabout in Brooks County, Texas as a teenager, and his oil and gas roots grew and developed into handling complex oil and gas litigation concerning royalty, drilling and production disputes as a lawyer. Mr. Braugh manages his companies’ investment strategies, and acquisition and development of business prospects and projects. With respect to his energy-related businesses, he personally interprets 2D and 3D seismic data, handles prospect planning and development, and has hands-on experience in drilling, completion and production operations.
